When I realized I was getting into unfamiliar territory {i.e. clothing sizes I had never even dreamed of seeing before} I knew my reward, out of necessity, would have to be one of the clothing variety, but I needed to wait till I no longer wanted to loose more weight.
Well {drum roll please}, I think it’s safe to say I. Am. Done. I’ve made it!
There really is no down side to losing a bunch of weight, but if there was one, it would be the clothing problem. You see, when you drop 30 pounds, and a good portion of your body fat, even your leggings, workout clothes, and T-shirts are too big {I know, cry me a river!}.
Replacing an entire wardrobe of clothing, some of which I’ve had since college, is an expensive undertaking {especially when you have my taste}. It’s going to be a slow process, but with Fall knocking on my door, I won’t be able to survive on the few stretchy dresses I have managed to {sort of} still be able to wear.
Hard work, and achieved goals, deserve a REWARD!
So without further ado, meet the newest addition to my closet:
J. Crew Schoolboy Blazer in navy
Isn’t she pretty {the blazer, that is}? In a classic cut and color, it is the perfect item to splurge on. It also doesn’t hurt that J. Crew has a 25% off promotion going on right now! I look forward to many fall and winter outings in this puppy!
Take a risk. Work hard. Earn your reward!

good for you! You deserve it!!!
I know exactly what you mean…you have a goal…but forget about having to get new clothes…I had to…I dropped 100 lbs…nothing I had before…or throughout the weight loss journey fit so literally…I had to buy new everything…down to bras and underwear…
It’s a great feeling but you sometimes you have somewhere to go and realize…oh crap…I had a dress that would be perfect…but now it’s 6 sizes too big…it’s been a little bit expensive few months rebuilding the wardrobe…but rewarding too!!!!
Congrats again!!!!!
Thank you Angela! And a big, big CONGRATS to you too! 100 pounds blows my 30 out of the water! You can obviously relate to the necessity of new clothing and yes I had to buy new bras too! There is also that annoying voice in the back of my head saying “you better not gain any weight back!” Do you ever have that? It’s a little nerve wracking, but I have to have confidence in myself!
Thanks for the comment!
Way to go! Love that blazer. Enjoy it cuz you deserve it
Thank you Stephanie! It feels so great to have accomplished something I set my mind to!
You go girl!! CONGRATS!! This is quite a fun problem to have
So I’m curious… now that you’re out of weight loss mode and into just maintaining your weight, how are you adjusting how much you’re eating?
Thank you Nicole! It’s been tough to wrap my mind around “maintenance mode” so I really havent changed too much yet. I guess I have become slightly less restrictive, but I need to sit down and set new daily goals for calorie intake and burn.
Love the blazer! It’s perfect for fall!
Congratulations on reaching your goals! That’s such an accomplishment! I wish I were motivated enough to work out on a daily basis.

Congratulations on accomplishing such an amazing goal! One of the best ways I’ve found to motivate myself is knowing that I’ll be rewarded with something nice once I attain my goal! That blazer is absolutely beautiful and I happened to be looking at it last night since J.Crew has another 25% off sale on right now….oh how I love a good sale! I also wanted to let you know that I nominated you for a blog award
